# Terms & conditions

A plain-language summary of our general terms and consultancy terms

Last updated: October 2026

## The full terms

This is a plain-language summary. The full documents are binding. These are our general terms (in Dutch), filed with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (number 86369857). And our consultancy terms, which come with every quote. If this summary and the documents differ, the documents apply.

## 1. When these terms apply

Our general terms apply to every quote and every agreement with Narrate. Our consultancy terms also apply to advisory work, coaching and other engagements. We can only deviate from them in writing. Your own organisation’s terms and conditions do not apply.

## 2. Quotes and engagements

Our quotes are not binding unless they say otherwise. An engagement starts when you accept the quote in writing. An email is enough. It also starts as soon as we start the work.

## 3. How we work

We do the work to the best of our ability and with good craftsmanship. That is a commitment to effort: we don’t promise a particular outcome. As a coach we ask questions and share knowledge, experience and tools. The choices and decisions stay with you. We may bring in others for an engagement.

## 4. What we ask of you

Make sure we get the information, people and access we need in time. If you want us to review something, send it at least 48 hours in advance. For an endorsement, allow 96 hours.

## 5. Prices

All our prices exclude VAT and travel and other expenses, unless we agree otherwise. If we don’t agree a fixed price, we charge the time we actually spend at our usual rates. Our rates are indexed every year. We tell you before a change takes effect.

## 6. Payment

You pay an invoice within 15 days. You pay a subscription, such as coaching, in advance for each period. We invoice extra hours and expenses afterwards. If you pay late, statutory commercial interest and collection costs are due. We may then also pause the work or end the agreement. We don’t refund what you have paid. Except in the cases the terms name, such as a training we cancel.

## 7. Rescheduling and cancelling

You can reschedule or cancel an appointment free of charge up to 24 hours in advance. If you cancel later, we charge the appointment as extra hours. For trainings and workshops, this applies. If you cancel within 2 weeks of the start, you pay half. Within 48 hours, you pay the full price. Hours reserved for one month can still be used in the following month.

## 8. Duration and notice

You can end an agreement in writing with 3 calendar months’ notice. Unless we agreed a different term. Coaching runs for at least 6 months and then renews for 3 months at a time. The notice period is 3 months. Sometimes you deliberately choose a direction we clearly objected to beforehand, with our reasons. Then we may end the engagement with one month’s notice.

## 9. Liability and complaints

We are only liable for direct damage caused by intent or gross negligence. That liability is limited to what our insurer pays out, or otherwise to the invoice amount, up to €10,000. We are never liable for indirect damage, such as lost revenue. If you have a complaint, tell us in writing within 7 days. Claims lapse after one year.

## 10. Intellectual property and reuse

The rights to our materials, methods and tools stay with Narrate. You may use and share work we deliver to you or create with you. That is under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). What we deliver carries the Narrate name by default. We may talk about how we worked, but never share your data or results without your consent. We may name your organisation as a client, unless we agree otherwise.

## 11. Confidentiality and privacy

What we share with each other stays confidential, unless we agree otherwise. For our work we use these services: Google Workspace (email, calendar, documents and video calls) and Sembly (AI meeting notes). Also HubSpot (CRM, contact and newsletter), Notion (workspace and notes) and the AI assistants Claude (Anthropic) and ChatGPT (OpenAI). We may record conversations for notes and evaluation. You may only record with our written consent. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

## 12. Governing law and disputes

Dutch law applies to our agreements and terms. If we can’t resolve a dispute together, the competent court of the District Court of Amsterdam decides.

## 13. Changes

We may update these terms. A new version applies to quotes and agreements made after it is published.
